FOREIGN TRIPS
Deep Blue Scuba Adventures offers a range of overseas dive trips. A superb opportunity to get away during the colder Scottish months or for your annual summer holiday! As these trips are led by a member of Deep Blue Scuba staff all the logistics are organised for you. All you need to do is dive in and relax! These trips also offer you the opportunity to continue your dive training, by completing your Open Water Dives or taking a continuing education course.

In previous years we have taken trips to Seychelles, Zanzibar, Cozumel, Turkey, Marsa Alam, Sharm el Sheikh, Dahab, Malta and others.

2012 FOREIGN TRIPS

RED SEA - SHARM EL SHEIKH

The next Sharm trip will run from 20 to 27 February 2012.

We will be staying at the Bay View Hotel in Naama Bay and diving with Emperor Divers who are based within the hotel, making for easy starts in the morning.

The cost of the trip is £680 including flights, B&B accommodation and a package of 10 boat dives. There are always options for additional dives including the Thistlegorm and Dunraven wrecks.

Dive Destinations

Sharm el Sheikh

This is one of the most popular dive destinations, worldwide, and rightly so! Diving on sites from the Straits of Tiran to Ras Mohamed you will see an abundance and diversity of marine life that you would often need to travel further afield to find.

From playful clown fish through stunning lion fish to friendly sharks, all surrounded by clear blue water and beautiful coral reefs, there is something to capture the imagination of everyone. In addition to scenic diving the Red Sea also offers some superb wreck diving.

The SS Thistlegorm is probably the most famous wreck dive in the Red Sea. She was a British Army supply ship which sank in 1941. Much of her cargo is still in position and on your dive you may see items including motorcycles, jeeps and Wellington boots. As you would expect, from the Red Sea, the fish life is also outstanding and schooling barracuda can often be seen.

Dahab
Dahab is approximately 45 minutes, by road, from Sharm El Sheikh.  This laid back bedouin town is a great base for some fantasic Red Sea diving.  The topography of the waters around Dahab provide a stunning backdrop to all of the fish you associate with the Red Sea.

Most notable is the awsome Blue Hole (one of only 3 blue holes in the world)!  The entry to this dive is a small leap of faith, into a narrow opening, in the reef table.  From there you descend (head first for the brave amongst us) through a chimney to 20 metres where the chimney opens onto the reef wall.  Swimming along the reef wall you will see clouds of anthia, beautiful purple soft corals and gigantic fan corals.  At the end of the reef wall you pass over a shallow saddle, before swimming through the blue, over the Blue Hole itself.

Malta
The island of Malta and smaller islands of Gozo and Comino to it's North, are quite unique both above and below the water. The underwater rock formations provide extremely interesting topography, which serves as a spectacular backdrop to the marine life. This is particularly true on Gozo where the 'Blue Hole' and 'Inland Sea' are among our favourite dives.

The Blue Hole is a volcanic chimney opening out to open water at about 20 metres, where large caves and swim-throughs are found. Although there is plenty of marine life to see, this dive is really all about the scenery. Imagine jumping into a shaft of bright turquoise water then exploring the caves and swim-throughs where your bubbles catch on the ceilings, like hundreds of tiny mirrors! The Inland Sea is similarly spectacular and you will dive through a long, open, tunnel before you reach an amazing underwater mountain range.

Surrounding all of this wonderful topography you will see big grouper, barracuda, damsel fish, octopus, rays and cuttle fish, to name only a few. Who knows, you may even see the Madonna, while diving off Malta!
